Closed Loop Coolers:

| As fluid to be cooled enters the coils of the General Evaporative Fluid Cooler, a three dimensional water spray covers the entire external coil surface. Simultaneously, upward moving air sweeps over the coil’s wetted surfaces causing evaporation to take place. The enormous energy-absorbing effect of the water vapor withdraws heat from the coils and from their contained fluid. As the saturated and heated air escapes through the top of the unit, the absorbed heat is dissipated into the atmosphere.
The unique "stepped" coil allows the cooling water to be evenly distributed over the entire coil surface eliminating "hot spots" and enhancing overall performance of the unit. |

No Chemical Treatment Required
As the coil is left free to expand and contract naturally, it does not clog with scale. This eliminates the need for chemical treatment. Periodic removal of the water from the base trough or sump ensures cleanliness of the system. Big On Utility Savings A unique, non-clogging nozzle system ensures that the coils are flooded at all times. The result - lower horse power fans! |

Why Choose General? |

|
LOWER FIRST COST...
comes from the light-weight, tough, corrosion and UV resistant construction which is not only much more durable, but less expensive to build. This means that General can afford to use the vastly superior heat exchange of copper to help achieve its much … HIGHER EFFICIENCY... The same double walls which help make the unit so light also shield the coolant water from sunlight that supports microbal growth. Since there are no nooks and crannies for microbes to hide in the slick, seamless molded housing, each General unit is much… |

EASIER TO MAINTAIN.
With no return bends or solder joints to restrict the flow (that is, to increase the pressure drop), General can use longer fluid circuits to expose the fluid to the heat exchange surfaces for longer periods of time. This achieves the closer approach temperatures that are so difficult for ordinary coolers without over sizing. Easy external access to all its coil circuits allows General to manifold for a specific job requirement to obtain optimum fluid velocity. This maximizes heat transfer and allows for a more precise approach and range using smaller equipment. Higher flow rates and approach temperatures (and/or higher splits) than those produced by an all parallel unit can then be attained with a simple three-way valve creating a partial bypass across the unit. This increased versatility is further enhanced by General’s modular construction and its scale shedding coils. |
