    Pressure Switches

The pressure switch is an integral part of your General air compressor. A pressure switch is used to regulate the pressure between two preset values on small, electrically driven compressors. Essentially telling the compressor when to run due to low system pressure and when to stop running as the pressure reaches the cut-off point.

Pressure Switch Adjustment Procedure

General Air Model # SWP60113

Used with LT Series lubricated tank mounted compressors and with the AMD-2 air maintenance device

General Air Model #
SWP60401U

Used with OL and OLT Series oil less riser and tank mounted compressors.

General Air Model # SWP60113-C

Used with LT Series lubricated tank mounted compressors.

General Air Model #
SWP60401U-C

Used with OL and OLT Series oil less riser and tank mounted compressors.

Pressure Switch Adjustment Tool

Adjusting pressure switches can be difficult and time consuming unless a uniform and correct approach is used. That's where our Pressure Switch Adjustment Tool comes into play.

If you find that adjusting pressure switches is an all to common inconvienence this tool is designed to help you get the job done quick. Please contact us for more information - 800.345.8207

Automatic Start / Stop Control

General's Start / Stop Control (view design drawing) is designed for use with our L Series base mounted lubricated air compressors for full automatic operation. The control consists of the four components normally found on a tank compressor piped and assembled ready for installation in the discharge air line. The four copmonents are the pressure switch with unloader valve, pressure gauge, safety relief valve and air check valve with unloader port.

The start / stop control is installed in the compressor discharge line allowing 15 to 20 feet of pipe (minimum) between the compressor and the control. The pressure switch will automatically maintian the set pressure at the control discharge by wiring the pressure either directly for fractional single phase units or through a motor starter coil to control the compressor motor.

A drop in system pressure will close the pressure switch and start the air compressor. When the pressure switch is satisfied, the compressor will stop and the unloader valve will exhaust the air between the compressor and check valve. This allows the compressor to begin its next cycle without any head pressure. The pressure gauge allows the installer to see the start / stop pressure settings and to adjust if necessary. In the event of a closed air line or excessive pressure build up in the compressor discharge, the safety valve in the line will protect the compressor.

Check Valves Pressure Relief Valves

Our check valves offer bubble-tight sealing capabilities at low pressure drops. Valve bodies are brass with fluorocarbon
'o'-rings.

  • 250 psi max pressure
  • 250 deg F. max temp.

Model # CV2525x3
(Set of 3 1/4" x 1/4" valves)

Model # CV2550x3
(Set of 3 1/4" x 1/2" valves)

Pressure relief valves are used in systems to maintain a desired pressure level.

All brass construction, with stainless springs. Easily field adjusted with knurled adjustment screw and locked with jam nut.

250 deg. F. max. temp.

Model # VR3P25080

Automatic Drain Valve Automatic Float Drain

The "DVA" Automatic Drain Valve is designed to drain condensate from anywhere that condensate collects.

The full ported soleniod valve is electrically timed by a solid state adjustable timer.

General's CDF 2000 Automatic Float Drain contains a stainless steel float operated purging system.

As the condensate level rises the float rises, opening the discharge orifice releasing the condensate without releasing the compressed air.

Flex Hose                       APCX51 Drain Assembly

Made of stainless steel, our flex hose reduces vibration and noise transmitted through the piping system.

Model # P1202MP

The APCX51 drain assembly is designed to automatically drain liquid water and oil from compressed air receivers and systems. Click Here for more information.
