An air compressor is only as strong as its weakest part. When you buy manufactured parts from General Air Products, you’ll immediately have a more durable and higher-quality compressor than most. We believe quality manufacturing starts with comprehensive knowledge and expedient customer service. Our team seeks to understand your specific needs and match you with the parts and equipment you require to succeed.

The condensate valve plays a vital role in maintaining air pressure and purity. As you use an air compressor, moisture from the air builds up and needs somewhere to escape. In the area where this valve is located, the moisture collects and can then be released as needed.

We carry a selection of automatic water drain valves for air compressors, which includes options like:

  • Zero air loss drains: This drain type helps you retain the most air pressure even as you open the compressor tank. It prioritizes minimal air loss while ensuring your compressor can run consistently at full speed.
  • Float drains: Float drains give you one less job to do as you operate a compressor. This drain uses a float to gauge water levels, and when it reaches a certain threshold, the drain opens for the water to flow out automatically.
  • Timed drains: In many industrial and manufacturing settings, air compressors do similar work around the clock. In these situations, it’s easy to estimate when you’ll need to drain your compressor. Timed drains are a type of automatic drain that releases at pre-determined intervals to keep things moving faster.

Condensates are usually more than just water. The moisture you release with an air compressor drain valve often contains oil, dirt, and other particulate matter that would otherwise clog up your compressor. The “FD” series handles denser materials with ease, discharging proficiently without draining air from the system.

FD models are automatic aluminum float drains with a stainless steel level and float. They also include a brass backup manual drain.

The “CDE” discharges only condensate and is protected from solid particles by an extended surface internal filter. The combination of a robust, high-capacity aluminum body with ingenious design and high-quality internal components guarantees precise, reliable operation at working pressures up to 290 psi and compressed air flow rates up to 2650 cfm.

The “DVA” unit is an automatic timer that gathers condensate from everywhere within the air compressor tank. An electrically-timed solenoid valve uses an adjustable timer to provide “Off Time” operation from 1-60 minutes, and “On Time” operation from 1-10 seconds.

The “SCE” unit is designed for the safe and efficient drainage of condensate moisture, oil, and water. This valve features a chrome-plated brass ball valve, a brass-bodied solenoid valve with stainless steel internals, and an O-ring or gasket filter seal. The timer can be supplied for three different voltages, and provides adjustable “Off Time” operation (1-40 minutes), and “On Time” operation (1-20 seconds).

The “SCM40” model handles viscous condensate in high-pressure systems. The valve prevents solid material from blocking the discharge orifice, allowing for a cleaner drain and enhanced productivity. It can be discharged automatically and manually.
