In April we continued our Fire Protection Roadshow grand tour just outside of the capital in Bethesda, Maryland. The tour of NICET certified training sessions will be going across the US and Canada to bring new information and training to fire safety professionals. We had the pleasure of instructing attendees from 28 different companies and agencies. This included leaders in the field such as Fireline, American Automatic Sprinkler and Mid-Atlantic Fire Protection
The training started with Summit Fire Consulting’s engineering director and Maryland native Mark Hopkins. Mark brought over 30 years of fire protection experience to the roadshow and discussed how to manage and mitigate corrosion in fire sprinkler systems.
Jim McHugh from AGF Manufacturing was up next, providing an overview of the recent NFPA code updates and changes related to air vents and other protection and maintenance installations. Additionally, he highlighted how AGF’s products are designed to simplify inspections and maintenance.
After lunch General Air Products President Ray Fremont Jr capped off the day with a discussion on air supply decisions. He talked about different air filling solutions like compressed air, dry air, nitrogen and vapor corrosion inhibitors and the advantages and disadvantages of these solutions.
