General Air Products Inc. was established in 1936 by Robert as General Blower Co, Inc. Throughout its history, the company has been involved in the manufacturing of many different types of industrial air moving equipment.
In the late 1950’s General Air Products, as it is known today, began specializing in industrial air compressors for the fire protection industry. Initial sales were directly to sprinkler contractors, but as the demand for General’s quality compressors grew, distributors were added to provide better service on a more local basis, as well as to increase the company’s exposure to the market.
Today, General Air Products is a name recognized as one of the largest and best known manufacturers of air compressors for the fire protection industry. Yet even as the company grows, what remains the same is its approach in providing engineering expertise and consultation for complex industrial applications which require unique solutions. It is this extra step in customer service which sets the company apart from its competitors.
