Oil Lubricated Tank Mounted Air Compressors For Dry Pipe & Pre-Action Fire Sprinkler Systems
General Air Products LT Plus Series tank mounted lubricated air compressors are integrally mounted on ASME coded air receivers. They arrive ready for installation with specially formulated compressor oil, vibration pads, a 30″ stainless steel flex hose and union. Single phase, three phase, high pressure and 50 Hz units are available.
As with all of our fire protection air compressors, the LT Plus Series is specifically engineered to pressurize dry pipe and pre-action sprinkler systems according to the parameters of NFPA 13. Tank mounted air compressors are recommended as the ideal type of compressor for dry pipe sprinkler applications.
Range: The LT Plus Series lubricated, tank mounted fire protection air compressors can be used in dry sprinkler systems up to 2500 gallons in size.
Note: An AMD-1 air maintenance device is required by code with all tank mounted fire protection air compressors. Multiple dry valves may be supplied from a single tank mounted compressor when using our AMD-1 on each individual system.
Lead Time: 2 weeks to ship

Look for the UL 1450, Supplement SC listing label (red sticker) on the unit to confirm compliance. To meet NFPA 13 (2025) requirements, a fire protection air compressor shall be listed for fire protection use. You can read more about UL 1450, Supplement SC in our article
UL 1450 is a general safety standard covering motor-operated air compressors, vacuum pumps, and painting equipment. UL 1450, Supplement SC is a stricter certification specifically for fire protection air compressors, ensuring they meet the higher performance and reliability requirements of fire sprinkler systems. You can read more about UL 1450, Supplement SC requirements here
Fire protection air compressors must restore system pressure within 30 minutes per NFPA 13. Compressor sizing is based on system volume (gallons), and for multiple risers, the largest system should be used for sizing.
Oil-less compressors require less maintenance and are ideal for most applications. Lubricated compressors require regular oil changes but may offer durability in certain conditions.
Riser-mounted compressors save space, while tank-mounted compressors are required for systems serving multiple risers per NFPA 13 (2025) 8.2.7.5.1.
Advance Series compressors feature a digital pressure switch with advanced monitoring capabilities, while Plus Series compressors use a traditional mechanical pressure switch.
General Air Products Digital pressure switches provide real-time system data including pressure, run hours, and cycles, and allow for easy adjustments during installation and maintenance. In addition they have fewer moving parts, often providing better long term reliability.
The ideal air supply depends on your application: compressed air for general use, dry air for cold storage to prevent freezing, and nitrogen generators or Vapor Pipe Shield for corrosion mitigation.
